Diablo 3 Barbarian Skills & Abilities

Barbarian skills, abilities and talents

The skills and abilities of the Barbarian are divided into Active Skills and Passive Skills, with Active Skills further divided into Fury Generators, Fury Spenders and Situational abilities. A Master of melee, the skills of the Barbarian encompass a variety of abilities emphasizing the Barbarians talent for dealing and soaking damage in close quarter melee combat.

The devastating skills and abilities of the Barbarian are powered by Fury, a force of pure rage. Fury builds up as the Barbarian makes use of Fury Generator skills or is struck in the heat of battle. Accumulated Fury depletes as the Barbarian executes Fury Spender abilities or exits combat and rests.

The effect and/or damage of an Aktive Skill can be further modified by applying Runestones. The effects of a Runestone include increasing damage or decreasing cooldowns, applying CC effects like a stun or slow or turning a single target damage skill into an AoE monster.

Barbarian Resource: Fury

Barbarians draw upon the Fury of their inner rage to execute attacks. Fury is accumulated as the Barbarian enters combat and suffers damage or activates a Fury Generator ability. Fury Generator Skills generate Fury while Fury Spender Skills spends Fury. Situational abilities do not require Fury, but the use of Situational skills is limited by cooldowns.

Barbarian Runestones

Barbarian Aktive Skills can be altered to suite your own needs and playstyle by applying one of five different Runestones. The Diablo 3 Runestone system is currently under further development by Blizzard. Details on Runestone effects and options are therefore excluded from the skills and talents listed below and will be added at a later date, pending further info and update by the Blizzard Diablo 3 development team.
